I actually stay away from the malls unless I have a planned purchase to make (only go about twice a year and usually just head right to the store I am planning on going to). Going to the mall makes you want to buy something, and if you stay home, you're not going to be tempted to spend! :) There's plenty of other fun things to do besides going to the mall!

When shopping at Wal-Mart, we look at volume to price. If the generic is smaller (even by 1-2 wt oz) but more expensive by $.30, more than likely, brand name will be cheaper.

I buy a set of plain glue on nails from Walgreens and trim/paint them myself instead of spending money on acrylics. I get way more compliments on them than when I used to get the acrylics.

For a large portion of the year we do not use the heat or air. We just open thr windows of the house and that's comfortable enough. If it's a little warmer we use a fan and in cooler weater we use a space heater and only heat the room we are using. Also, you can turn your water heater heat level down lower and save a lot on gas utilities!

A great tip on saving money is to not only match your Sunday coupons to weekly grocery sales but also our family does a lot of clothes shopping at consignment stores for used clothing especially since my kids tend to grow out of them so fast!

My first tip is buy an underground house it will save alot in energy bills alsoin remodel and house repair try to do as much as you can on your own it will save alot and get satisfaction of accomplishment. Next try to recycle used stuff like furniture and what ever you can find. Next live within your means and try not to buy stuff you don't need or won't use.

to save money we do not have cable, we just have netflix which is $10 a month!

Add up bills that only come around once a year. Not your expenses you have on a monthly basis. Example: Car Insurance, House Insurance, Registration/Plates for your car, Christmas presents and any other expense you think you may have for the next year. Divide the total by 12 and this is the amount you will need to place in a savings account to have the money's when these one a year bills or expenses come in.
