I actually stay away from the malls unless I have a planned purchase to make (only go about twice a year and usually just head right to the store I am planning on going to). Going to the mall makes you want to buy something, and if you stay home, you're not going to be tempted to spend! :) There's plenty of other fun things to do besides going to the mall!

look for sales mverno@roadrunner.com
When shopping at Wal-Mart, we look at volume to price. If the generic is smaller (even by 1-2 wt oz) but more expensive by $.30, more than likely, brand name will be cheaper.

Make your own coffe at home. Those who buy starbucks (or like places) everyday can spend over $4000 a year! Save yourself $4000 and make your own coffee. Make sure it's whole bean. That saves you $ also
Want to save over $700 a year? Stop buying bottled water and buy a purifier.
You can save over $400 a year by changing your phone bill plan
You can save over $1000 a year by dying your hair at home
Want more coupons? Write to your favorite companies and ask. They'll usually be happy to oblige and send you some
Want to save on your grocery bill? You can literally save thousands by growing your own food. Make sure you use heirloom NON-Genetically modified seeds to ensure your harvest comes back year after year
You can save over $650 a year if you stop getting your nails done
You can save hundreds a year if you change your cable bill plan
I buy a set of plain glue on nails from Walgreens and trim/paint them myself instead of spending money on acrylics. I get way more compliments on them than when I used to get the acrylics.
enter sweepstakes often so you win!

Never go grocery shopping when you're hungry. Eat before you go.

Make a list of what you need and stick to the list! ;)

For a large portion of the year we do not use the heat or air. We just open thr windows of the house and that's comfortable enough. If it's a little warmer we use a fan and in cooler weater we use a space heater and only heat the room we are using. Also, you can turn your water heater heat level down lower and save a lot on gas utilities!

A great tip on saving money is to not only match your Sunday coupons to weekly grocery sales but also our family does a lot of clothes shopping at consignment stores for used clothing especially since my kids tend to grow out of them so fast!

My best tips are to not waste anything, keep an eye out for good deals, and if you are going to cut coupons..,keep them on you, so you'll always use them!

my mum, my sister and i do one big shopping trip to costco together, so we can get the cheap deals, and nothing spoils or goes bad before it gets used.

Consider buying store/generic brands. They are almost always as good as name brands but far less costly.

My best money saving tip has been to buy the amount you need for your family. Sometimes we get a little too shopping happy and buy too much, only for it to spoil quickly and be thrown away!

My tip is that I reuse things such as a mirror or vase I am sick of. Spray paint does wonders! you can also redo an old lampshade and make it sassy ;)
melindasuegordon at gmail dot com
My first tip is buy an underground house it will save alot in energy bills alsoin remodel and house repair try to do as much as you can on your own it will save alot and get satisfaction of accomplishment. Next try to recycle used stuff like furniture and what ever you can find. Next live within your means and try not to buy stuff you don't need or won't use.
use a brick in back of toilet to save water and use 1/2 the laundry soap or dishwasher soap you sually do, cleans just as well I found out and saves you on buying soaps
wombatpurple{at}yahoo.com
I do my own hair coloring, I cut my sons hair on my own, I also use less laundry soap then they suggest using.

to save money we do not have cable, we just have netflix which is $10 a month!
susansmoaks at gmail dot com
Add up bills that only come around once a year. Not your expenses you have on a monthly basis. Example: Car Insurance, House Insurance, Registration/Plates for your car, Christmas presents and any other expense you think you may have for the next year. Divide the total by 12 and this is the amount you will need to place in a savings account to have the money's when these one a year bills or expenses come in.
joker2007@iowatelecom.net
I get my hair cut for around $7 by using a coupon that we get in the mail to Great Clips or Super Cuts
